A visited countries map is useful because it gives your travel history a shape. Instead of remembering trips as scattered photos or a list of city names, you can see the places you have been on a world map.
Cinemaly's World tab is built for that exact job. Add the cities and countries you have visited, watch them light up on the map, and keep simple travel stats as your personal map fills in.
The World tab is different from a cinematic trip capsule. Capsules tell the story of one journey. The World tab shows the bigger picture of everywhere you have been.
What You Can Track
The World tab is designed around three simple pieces of travel memory:
- Places you have visited
- Countries represented by those places
- Progress stats that summarize how much of each country or the world you have seen
That makes it useful after a road trip, a backpacking route, a year of city breaks, or a lifetime of travel you want to organize.
How to Build Your Map
Open the World tab
Start in Cinemaly's World tab. You will see a world map and an input for adding visited places.
Add a city or country
Type a place you have visited. Cinemaly uses map and place search to resolve the location, then adds it to your visited list.
Watch the map fill in
When boundary data is available, Cinemaly colors the visited area on the map. If a boundary is not available, the app can still show a point fallback for the place.
Use the stats panel
The stats panel summarizes visited places, countries, and country-level progress. It helps turn a simple list of cities into a visual travel record.
Visited Countries Map vs Travel Capsule
Visited countries map
- ✗Shows everywhere you have been
- ✗Tracks cities, countries, and stats
- ✗Best for long-term travel progress
- ✗Lives in the World tab
Travel capsule
- ✓Tells the story of one trip
- ✓Combines route, photos, and notes
- ✓Best for sharing a journey
- ✓Exports as a Cinemaly capsule
You do not have to choose one forever. Use the World tab to track the bigger map of your travels, then use capsules when a specific trip deserves its own cinematic story.
Privacy Notes
Cinemaly does not require an account, login, or backend profile for the World tab. Your personal travel content is kept on your device. Place search may send the location query to Nominatim/OpenStreetMap.
